63. Al-Munafiqun/The Hypocrites
I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah
The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone
63:01
a. When the hypocrites - disbelievers showing belief - come to you, O The Prophet, they
pretend to say:
b. ‘We bear witness that you are certainly Allah’s Messenger.’
c. And without the need for the testimony of the hypocrites, Allah knows very well that you are indeed HIS Messenger,
d. but Allah also bears witness that the hypocrites are definitely liars – saying what they do not mean.
63:02
a. They choose their swearing as a cover-up, a deceit;
b. while in reality, they obstruct people from the Way of Allah.
c. Surely they - evil indeed is what they do.
63:03
a. That is what has happened because first they believed and then inwardly they disbelieved.
b. Hence, their hearts have been sealed -
c. such that they do not comprehend the concept of truth.
63:04
a. And whenever you would look at them, you would be impressed by their physical stature,
b. and when they speak, you would listen to their speech attentively.
c. But, in fact, they are just like logs of timber/wood, stacked-up against a wall.
d. They reckon that every rebuke they hear is directed against them.
e. These are the real and bitter enemies;
f. so beware of them!
g. May Allah destroy them!
h. How deluded they are!
63:05
a. And whenever they would be asked:
b. ‘Come to offer apologies and let Allah’s Messenger seek forgiveness for you’ of hypocrisy and deceit.
c. They would twist their heads in arrogance,
d. and you would see them turning away in pride.
654 Surah 63 * Al-Munafiqun
63:06
a. Anyway, it would all be the same for them, whether you – O The Prophet - seek forgiveness for them, or do not seek forgiveness for them -
b. Allah will never forgive them as long as they persist in hypocrisy and deceit.
c. Indeed, Allah does not guide such a people who are defiantly disobedient – as their hearts are infected with hypocrisy.
63:07
a. They are those who say to their companions:
b. ‘Do not spend anything on anyone of the poor emigrant Muslims who are with Allah’s Messenger until they break away’ from him -
c. although for Allah are the treasures of the heavens and the earth which contain their provisions,
d. but the hypocrites cannot comprehend the truth of this wisdom.
63:08
a. They boast:
b. ‘When we return to Madeenah, the mightier/honorable will surely expel the weaker/
meaner Muslims from it.’
c. In truth, the real power belongs to Allah, and to HIS Messenger, and to the Faithful,
d. even though the hypocrites do not realize this.
63:09
a. O The Faithful!
b. Do not let your wealth, business, possessions and your children keep you preoccupied in a manner that it distract you from the Remembrance of Allah.
c. And whoever would do so, those – they shall be the ones who are the real losers.
63:10
a. Spend in the Cause of Allah out of what WE provide you,
b. do so before the pangs of death overtake any one of you, and then one will enter a state of demise and say:
c. O ‘My Rabb - The Lord!
d. If only YOU would delay death for me for a little while,
e. I shall then be charitable, and
f. be among the virtuous.
63:11
a. And Allah will not delay the time of death for anyone, once its appointed time of leaving this life has come.
b. And Allah is Well-Aware of your intensions, motives, and doings.
