35. Fatir/Creator

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

35:01
a. The Praise and Gratitude is for Allah – The One and Only God of everyone and everything,
- Creator of the celestial realm and the terrestrial world without any precedent,
- The Appointer of the angels as message-bearers, with two and three and four pairs of
wings.
b. HE increases creation as and what HE Wills.
c. Indeed, Allah Manifests Sovereignty over all existence.

35:02
a. Whatever mercy and good fortune Allah may open up for a people, no one can or is able to hold it back, and
b. whatever of these HE may hold back, there is not one, who can or is able to give it after HIM deciding not to give,
c. for HE is The Almighty, The Wise.

35:03
a. O The People of the World!
b. Remember Allah’s blessings and favors upon you -
c. Is there any creator, other than Allah, who can provide for you sources of sustenance from the sky and the earth?
d. No. There can never be one!
e. There is no entity of worship –and can never be - apart from HIM.
f. How, then, can you be so self-deceiving?

35:04
a. And if they belie and deny you, O The Prophet, know that Messengers before you were
also belied and denied.
b. And ultimately all matters are to be referred to Allah for resolution.

35:05
a. O The People of the World!
b. Indeed, Allah’s Promise about the Hereafter is true,
c. therefore, do not be seduced by the worldly life,
d. and do not let your own self-deception delude you about Allah.

35:06
a. Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you.
b. So take him to be an enemy!
c. He call his followers in disbelief to become companions of the Blazing Fire.

35:07
a. Those who persist in disbelief - for them will be an awful punishment, and
b. just as those who believe and practice righteousness - for them will be forgiveness and a great reward in Paradise.

35:08
a. And what of the one whose evil deed is made to appear enticing to him and he perceives it as good can you guide him to the right path?
b. Surely Allah lets go astray whoever wills to go astray, just as HE guides whoever wills to be guided.
c. So do not let your distress destroy you for their sake.
d. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of whatever they do and HE will requite them for it.

35:09
a. And it is Allah WHO sends the winds which whip up the clouds to move,
b. then WE drive them to a land that is lifeless, and
c. thereby WE revive the land to life after its being lifeless.
d. That is how will be The Resurrection!

35:10
a. Whoever seeks honor and glory should know that all honor and glory is for Allah.
b. Good words in matters of faith as well as in general conversation rise up to HIM,
c. and righteous deeds elevate it – the good word.
d. As for those who plot evil, plan evil, and plant evil - for them will be an awful punishment.
e. And their plotting – it will be in ruin.

35:11
a. And Allah created you
- out of dust as human species,
- then out of drop of seminal fluid,
- then HE made you into pairs.
b. And no female conceives a child, or gives birth, without HIS Knowledge about it,
c. nor does anyone has life-span extended, or life-span shortened, without its being in a Book -
d. and that is certainly easy for Allah.

35:12
a. The two kinds of seas are not alike:
b. one is with fresh and sweet water, pleasant to drink, while the other is salty and bitter.
c. Yet from each one of them you eat fresh fish meat, and bring out pearl-coral based
ornaments that your ladies wear.
d. And you watch the ships sailing through them - in each of the two seas - so that you may
go in search of HIS Bounty through trade and commerce,
e. and, thus you may be grateful to HIM.

35:13
a. HE merges the nighttime into the daytime and HE merges the daytime into the nighttime.
b. And HE has subjected the Sun and the Moon to the service of human beings, each one
running its course for a specified time to the advent of The Last Hour.
c. Such is Allah, your Rabb-The Lord.
d. The Sovereignty over the entire existence belongs to HIM.
e. Whereas those entities you call upon instead of HIM, they do not even possess/control so much as membrane of a date-stone.

35:14
a. When you call upon them, they do not hear your calling,
b. and even if they were to hear, they could not respond to you.
c. And during the Time of Final Judgment, they will deny your having ascribed them to Allah.
d. And no one can appraise you of The Truth like The One WHO is All-Knowing – Allah.

35:15
a. O The People of the World!
b. It is you who are in need of Allah,
c. whereas Allah - HE is the Rich Beyond Need, All-Praised.

35:16
a. If HE so wishes, HE could do away with you and bring a new creation in your place.

35:17
a. And that is surely not difficult for Allah to do.

35:18
a. And no bearer of the burden of guilt/sin will bear the burden of guilt/sin of another guilty/ sinful person.
b. If the one whose burden of guilt/sin is heavy, calls out for his burden to be carried by another, nothing of it will be carried by anyone, even if they were his close relative.
c. You can only warn those who
- stand in awe of their Rabb - The Lord, even though HE is beyond their perception, and
- establish the Salat/Prayers.
d. Whoever purifies oneself, only purifies for the sake of one’s own self.
e. And all will eventually go back to Allah for judgment and award.

35:19
a. And the blind and the seeing are not the same,

35:20
a. nor are the darkness and the light the same,

35:21
a. nor are the cool shade and the burning heat,

35:22
a. not are the living and the dead the same.
b. Indeed, Allah enables whoever HE Wills to hear the truth and follow it,
c. whereas you cannot make those hear who are in the graves.

35:23
a. O The Prophet!
b. You are only a Warner to them - but not accountable for their being guided.

35:24
a. Indeed, WE have assigned you with the truth,
- as a Herald of good news of Allah’s mercy for those who follow you, and
- as a Warner against Allah’s punishment for those who do not follow you.
b. In fact, there has never been a community to whom a Warner had not come from among them.

35:25
a. And if they belie and deny you, there is nothing new about it.
b. Those Messengers who were assigned before you were also belied and denied.
c. Their Messengers came to them
- with the clear signs, and
- with the Scriptures, and
- with the enlightening Book.

35:26
a. Then I seized those who persistently denied and belied the truth.
b. So how awesome was MY Condemnation upon them!?
c. It was just appropriate and well-deserved!

35:27
a. Do you not observe that Allah sends down rain water from the sky clouds?
b. And, with it, WE bring out fruitful vegetation of various colors, tastes, and benefits to
human life and health.
c. Just as in the mountain-tracks are streaks of white and red - of various colors, and, yet other of deep black.

35:28
a. And likewise of the human being, and other creatures, and the livestock – they are all in diverse colors.
b. It is only those who have knowledge of HIS Creative Power among HIS servants truly
stand in awe of Allah.
c. Indeed, Allah is The Almighty, Ever-Forgiving.

35:29
a. Surely those who
- recite the Book of Allah, and
- establish the Salat/Prayers, and
- spend in charity both secretly and openly from what WE provide them,
b. can hope for a transaction that will never be in vain – it will always be beneficial.

35:30
a. So that HE may reward them in full, and
b. increase them even more out of HIS Bounty.
c. Indeed, HE is Ever-Forgiving, Ever-Appreciative of their obedience and gratitude.

35:31
a. And whatever WE are revealing on to you of the Book - it is the truth,
b. confirming the truth of the Scriptures that came before it.
c. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of HIS servants and is All-Watching.

35:32
a. And that is the way it is.
b. WE made OUR servants, whom WE chose, inherit the Book to preserve, teach and preach it.
c. Yet some of them
- are unfair to themselves, and
- others are moderate, and
- there are yet others among them who take lead in righteousness – by the Will of Allah.
d. And that is indeed the greatest of blessing!

35:33
a. As a reward they will enter the realm of Gardens of Eternity: never to leave, never to die.
b. They will be adorned therein with bracelets/armbands of gold and with pearls, and
c. their garments there will be of silk.

35:34
a. And they will be saying:
b. ‘All the Praise and Gratitude is for Allah, WHO has removed all grief from us.
c. Our Rabb - The Lord is truly Forgiving, Ever-Appreciative’ of even insignificant deeds and
dealings of righteousness.

35:35
a. ‘It is HE WHO lodged us in the realm of eternal bliss out of HIS Grace -
b. wherein no pain will ever touch us,
c. and no fatigue will ever befall us.

35:36
a. As for those who disbelieve, for them will be the Fire of Hell,
b. wherein they will neither die,
c. nor will any of its punishment ever be lightened for them.
d. Thus do WE reward every ungrateful disbeliever.

35:37
a. And therein they will scream and cry out for help, saying:
b. O ‘Our Rabb - The Lord!
c. Let us out of here.
d. We will practice righteousness - other than what we used to do’ before in the worldly lifetime.
e. They will be told:
f. ‘Did WE not allow you a long life, enough of it already for the one who wanted to reflect
and take heed?
g. And, moreover, the Warner came to you.
h. So now taste this punishment as the consequences of your heedlessness.
i. And, thus, the unjust/evildoers will have no helper to ward off their punishment.

35:38
a. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing the unknown realities of the celestial realm and the terrestrial world and beyond in the realm of imperceptibility.

b. In fact, HE is also All-Knowing of what is even within the hearts of people.

35:39
a. It is HE WHO made you successors of earlier generations upon earth.
b. It is up to you now to believe or not to believe.
c. So, whoever does not believe will bear the consequences of his disbelief.
d. The disbelief of the disbelievers only increases them in rejection in the Sight of their Rabb
- The Lord.
e. And the disbelief of the disbelievers only increases them in loss of their reward of the Hereafter.

35:40
a. Ask them:
b. What ‘do you think about the entities whom you call upon apart from Allah?
c. Show me what part of the terrestrial world have they created?
d. Or do they have a share with Allah in creating and governing the celestial realm?
e. Or have WE ever given them a Divine Writ from which they can present evidence in support of their assertion that there are entities worthy of worship apart from Allah?
f. No!
g. Rather the wrongdoers promise one another nothing but delusions and wishful thinking.
35:41
a. Indeed, it is Allah – not the entities of your worship - WHO upholds the celestial realm and the terrestrial world in balance, lest they fall apart and cause cosmic catastrophe.
b. For if they were ever to fall apart, no one could hold them in place after HIM.
c. Indeed, HE is Ever-Forbearing, Ever-Forgiving.

35:42
a. And they swore by Allah the most solemn of their oaths that
b. if a Warner were ever to come to them, they will follow his guidance even better than any of the earlier communities.
c. Yet when a Warner did come to them in the person of Muhammad ibn Abdallah, it only increased them in aversion to it,

35:43
a. They were arrogant in the land and in plotting evil.
b. But evil plotting only traps those who plot them.
c. Can they expect anything different but the pattern of events that overwhelmed the people of earlier times?
d. No!
e. You will neither find any change in Allah’s Precedent in dealing with such arrogant,
f. nor will you ever find any alteration in Allah’s Precedent in treating them.

35:44
a. Have they not ever traveled around the world and noticed the fate of those arrogant and proud disbelievers who were before them?
b. In fact, they were mightier than these in power.
c. But still nothing could render Allah ineffective in dealing with them - be it in the celestial realm or the terrestrial world.
d. Indeed, HE is All-Knowing of everything, All-Powerful to wreak vengeance.

35:45
a. And if Allah were to punish people immediately as a consequence of what they earn of HIS disobedience,
b. then HE would not have left any single creature alive on the surface of it.
c. However, HE is sparing them until an appointed time set by HIM to repent and reform.
d. And whenever their time comes - then they would realize that Allah had always been Watchful of HIS servants.
