36. Ya. Sin./Yaseen

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

36:01
a. Ya. Sin.

36:02
a. The Qur’an - full of Wisdom is an evidence of the fact that -

36:03
a. truly, you - O The Prophet - are of The Messengers,

36:04
a. - guided upon the Right Path,

36:05
a. it is a revelation being sent down onto you by The Almighty, The Infinitely Compassionate,

36:06
a. so that you can warn a people whose forefathers were never warned,
b. so they have remained heedless of the true faith and right guidance.

36:07
a. Indeed, the Word of misguidance is bound to be true against most of them, so they are not going to believe.

36:08
a. Indeed, WE have placed iron collars around their necks, up to their chins, so their heads are upturned, aloft and made stiff-necked so as not to see the Right Path.

36:09
a. And WE have set a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them,
b. thus WE have blindfolded them from all sides in the darkness of ignorance so they can no longer see the light of truth and guidance.

36:10
a. Thus, it is all the same to them whether you warn them, or do not warn them,
b. they are not going to believe.

36:11
a. However, you can only warn someone who
- follows the Reminder – The Qur’an - and
- remains in awe of The Immensely Merciful despite not having seen HIM.
b. So give him the good news of Allah’s forgiveness, and
c. a generous reward in Paradise.

36:12
a. Indeed, WE are going to give life to the dead, and
b. WE are recording whatever of the deeds they send forward - of good or evil before their death, as well as
c. their traces of motives and actions they have left behind in the world: praiseworthy or blameworthy.
d. And everything - WE enumerate in a clear book of their record.

36:13
a. And set out for them the example of
b. the people of the city - how they reacted when the Messengers came to them.

36:14
a. When WE first assigned two Messengers to them, they belied and denied both,
b. so WE reinforced them with a third.
c. Thus they proclaimed:
d. ‘Indeed, we have been assigned to you as Allah’s Messengers!’

36:15
a. They - people of the city - argued:
b. ‘You are nothing special but merely humans like us.
c. And The Immensely Merciful has not revealed anything by way of a Scripture, as you claim.
d. You are only telling lies’ about your Divine Mission.
36:16
a. They - Messengers - responded:
b. ‘Our Rabb - The Lord Knows that we have indeed been assigned to you by HIM with HIS Message.’

36:17
a. ‘And our duty is only to convey HIS Message clearly.’

36:18
a. They warned:
b. ‘We definitely see an evil omen in you for us.
c. So if you do not stop your advocacy, we will certainly stone you, and
d. thus you will experience an awful punishment from us.’

36:19
a. They said:
b. ‘Your evil omen is from the absence of your true faith.
c. Is it evil because you are being reminded about Allah?
d. No!
e. Instead, you people have definitely gone deep in sin.’

36:20
a. So the people decided to stone/assassinate the Messengers.
b. Just then a person came running from outskirts of the city, saying:
c. ‘O My Community People!
d. Obey The Messengers!’

36:21
a. ‘Obey them who do not even ask you for any payment for their service.
b. And they are certainly guided aright.’

36:22
a. And so he was asked if he had absolved himself from the religion of his forefathers and embraced the new religion. Thus he responded:
b. And as far as I am concerned ‘why should I not submit to HIM in worship WHO created me?
c. And, you will all be returned to HIM’ to give an account of our lives.

36:23
a. He continued:
b. ‘Should I take certain entities for worship other than HIM,
c. even if The Immensely Merciful intended any harm for me, their intercession could neither help me, nor salvage me?’

36:24
a. ‘Truly, then, I would indeed be clearly misguided.’

36:25
a. O My Community People!
b. As for me, ‘I definitely believe in Rabb - The Lord of you all.
c. So listen to me’ and believe with me in HIM and HIS Message.

36:26
a. Then the mob stoned/assassinated him in their fury because of his pronounced faith.
b. Thereupon, it was told to his departing soul while dying:
c. ‘Enter the realm of Paradise!’
d. Whereupon he spiritually exclaimed in the excitement of joy:
e. ‘Oh, I wish if only my people knew my fate and state -

36:27
a. how my Rabb - The Lord has forgiven me of my oversights and sinful trespasses,
b. and made me of the honored’ in Paradise.’

36:28
a. And after him WE did not send down any angels from the heaven against his people,
b. for WE did not need to send down to destroy anyone.

36:29
a. It was just one single blast of OUR Punishment upon his people,
b. and they were instantaneously extinct.

36:30
a. Ah! Alas for these people!

b. Whenever a Messenger came to them, they mocked him and ridiculed his Mission, and ultimately stoned/assassinated him.

36:31
a. Have they not known from history how many generations did WE destroy before them for disobedience to OUR Messengers,
b. and that they would never return to them until the Time of Resurrection?

36:32
a. And, indeed, every one of them - without exception - will be brought forward before US for Judgment and award.

36:33
a. And here is a Wonder of OUR Power to recreate and resurrect for them:
b. a lifeless land which WE revive to life with water, and
c. WE bring out grains from it, of which they eat.

36:34
a. And WE make orchards of date-palms and grapevines in it, and
b. WE cause springs of water flow through it.

36:35
a. So that they may eat of its fruits though it was not the work of their hands and skills that made it possible.
b. Will they still not be grateful to US and believe?

36:36
a. Glory be to HIM WHO created pairs of all – in opposite -
- of what the earth produces of agricultural stock, and
- of themselves and of livestock, and of birds, and of beasts, and
- of what they yet have no knowledge of other kinds in the land and the sea and the realm of the imperceivable.

36:37
a. And another Wonder of OUR Creative Power for them is in the nighttime,
b. from which WE withdraw the daylight, and they are left into darkness of the nighttime.

36:38
a. And the sun runs on its course to its destined point.
b. That is the planning of The All-Powerful, The All Knowing of HIS Creation.

36:39
a. And for the moon, WE have determined its stations until it returns to its shape like an old palm branch - curves like a crescent.

36:40
a. And it is neither for the sun to overtake the moon,
b. nor the nighttime to outpace the daytime,
c. but each – of the celestial bodies and systems – glides in its defined orbit.

36:41
a. And another Wonder of OUR Power for them is that WE carried their descendants in the loaded Ark.

36:42
a. And WE have created for them the like of it for land, air, and space on which they ride/
board.

36:43
a. And if WE so desire, WE could drown them despite all safety/rescue technology on-board
such that they will have neither anyone to call upon, nor will they ever be rescued.

36:44
a. Unless it be a Mercy from US - allowing them to enjoy their lifetime for a little while here.

36:45
a. And yet whenever they are told:
b. ‘Be aware of what lies before you, and what is left behind you,
c. so that you may receive Allah’s Mercy.’

36:46
a. Yet a Sign from the Signs of their Rabb - The Lord does not come to them
b. without their turning away from it in aversion and disgust.

36:47
a. And whenever they are told:
b. ‘Give out in charity of what Allah provides for you.’
c. Those who disbelieve say mockingly to those who believe:
d. ‘Should we feed those whom Allah could have fed HIMSELF only if HE so desired?’
e. By saying so you are clearly mistaken.

36:48
a. And they ask intending mockery:
b. ‘When will this promise come about/true,
c. if you are really truthful while asserting so?’

36:49
a. All they can expect is just one single blast -
b. it will seize them unaware while they are still arguing and disputing about it among themselves,

36:50
a. and their end will be so quick and sudden that they will neither be able to make a bequest/
advice,
b. nor will they return to their own families.

36:51
a. And then the Trumpet will be sounded to signify the advent of the Resurrection and its Correlatives,
b. they will be rushing out of their graves – bewildered - back to their Rabb - The Lord.

36:52
a. They will say in amazement:
b. Oh, ‘woe to us!
c. Who has raised us from our sleeping place’ to this state of existence?
d. And then some will say to others:

e. ‘This must be the promise of The Immensely Merciful,
f. about which the Messengers were truthful.’

36:53
a. It will be only one single blast,
b. and they will all be brought up before US for interrogation, judgment, and awards.

36:54
a. They will be told:
b. Now ‘no one will be treated unfairly in any way at this time,
c. and you will not be rewarded except for what you used to do’ in the worldly life.

36:55
a. Indeed, at that Time, the People of the Paradise will be preoccupied with joy and busy
rejoicing -

36:56
a. they and their spouses - reclining upon couches in shade/peace and serenity.

36:57
a. They will have all kinds of fruitful sustenance,
b. and whatever else they may wish or call for.

36:58
a. They will be told:
b. ‘Peace!’
c. – a word of greeting they will hear from their Rabb - The Lord, the Most Merciful.

36:59
a. On the other hand, those guilty of disbelief and leading a life full of sin will be told:
b. ‘O the Criminals!
c. You are singled out this Time – so you stand apart.’

36:60
a. ‘O Descendants of Adam!
b. Did I not ask you never to submit to the Satan in his advice/temptation,
c. for, indeed, he is your obvious enemy?’

36:61
a. ‘And that you should submit to ME in worship alone!
b. That is the Right Path’ for you to follow.

36:62
a. And as for Satan, he has led a huge number of you astray.
b. Did you not understand his enmity and the suffering he could cause you?

36:63
a. So here is the Hell about which you were repeatedly warned.

36:64
a. So enter it now for having persistently disbelieved the truth of its coming.

36:65
a. Now at this Time WE will seal their tongues and mouths,
b. and it will be their hands that WE will cause to speak to US,
c. and their feet will testify about everything they had been doing of evil in the worldly life.

36:66
a. And if WE had wanted WE could have surely taken away their eyesight,
b. then they would have struggled to find the Right Path,
c. but then how could they have seen it - the Right Path?

36:67
a. And if WE had wanted, WE could have transformed them in their places into static lifeless objects.
b. Then they could have neither moved forward to make progress nor turned backward and retreat from mistakes.

36:68
a. And to whoever WE give a long life, WE regress the nature of his creation,
b. Will they still not understand?

36:69
a. And WE have not taught him – The Prophet – poetry,
b. it is neither suitable for him, nor to the Essence of The Qur’an.
c. In fact, this is but a Reminder and a Clear Qur’an - guiding to the Right Path.

36:70
a. So that he may warn those who are living,
b. and the Word of Punishment is justified against the disbelievers.

36:71
a. Do they not see that it is OUR Handiwork that WE created the livestock for them and that they are their masters: keeping them under their control?

36:72
a. And WE tamed/subdued these for them.
b. So that some of them they may use for ride/riding, and some they may eat of them.

36:73
a. And they may have yet other benefits in them and drinks.
b. Will they still not be grateful to US and believe?

36:74
a. Yet they take other entities for worship instead of Allah,
b. hoping that they may help them.

36:75
a. But these entities whom they worship will not be able to help them -
b. they will be a part of their group that will be brought forward for accountability during the Time of Final Judgment – against those who worshiped them.

36:76
a. O The Prophet!
b. So do not be grieved by their talk.

c. Indeed, WE Know exactly what they hide of plotting and treachery, and
d. what they disclose of animosity and hatred, and WE will requite them accordingly.

36:77
a. Does the human being not consider that WE created him out of a mere drop of sperm, and so in stages until WE make him grow powerful and strong,
b. yet he becomes OUR defiant adversary.

36:78
a. And forgetting the origin of his own creation he presents depictions of US, saying:
b. ‘Who could give life to these bones once they are rotted and become dust’ after death?

36:79
a. Say:
b. ‘HE will give them life again WHO created them as living being in the first instance,
c. for HE is the All-Knowledgeable of every creation and recreation.

36:80
a. It is HE WHO produces a fire for you from the green tree,
b. and so you too light a fire from it.

36:81
a. Is it not HE WHO created the celestial realm and the terrestrial world - without a precedent
- able to create anew the like of the dead bones again?
b. Yes, indeed!
c. HE is The Supreme Creator, The All Knowing.

36:82
a. Indeed, whenever HE intends something to come into existence,
b. all HE says to it is:
c. ‘Be!’
d. Then it comes to be.

36:83
a. So all glory be to HIM in WHOSE Hand is the Sovereignty over everything, and
to HIM you all will be returned for accountability and awards.
