43. Az-Zukhruf/Decoration of Gold

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

43:01
a. Ha. Mim.

43:02
a. By the Book of Divine Qur’an - clear in itself and clearly guiding to the truth.

43:03
a. Indeed, WE have made it a Qur’an in Arabic,
b. so that you may understand its meaning, comprehend its demands and live your lives accordingly.

43:04
a. And, indeed, this - The Divine Qur’an - is in the Mother of the Book with US -
b. it is truly exalted and full of wisdom.

43:05
a. O The Disbelievers!
b. Should WE withdraw the Reminder – The Divine Qur’an - from you just because you are a people gone beyond limits in its denial?
c. No. WE shall not!

43:06
a. And how many Prophets have WE assigned to the earlier people before you, O The Prophet!

43:07
a. Yet not one Prophet came to them whom they would not ridicule,
b. the same way people ridicule you and your message.

43:08
a. So WE destroyed those who were more powerful in prowess, strength, and might than them,
b. and thus they have become history.

43:09
a. And if indeed you were to ask them:
b. ‘Who created the celestial realm and the terrestrial world?’

c. They would surely answer:
d. ‘The Almighty, The All-Knowing created them.’

43:10
a. It is HE WHO made the earth a habitat for you, and
b. has set pathways within it for you so that you may be guided to your destinations and earn livelihood.

43:11
a. And it is HE WHO sends down rain water, time and again, from the sky clouds, in precise
measure that is required -
b. and by means of it WE bring to life a lifeless arid land.
c. And in this way you too will be brought-out to life at the time of Resurrection.

43:12
a. And it is HE WHO created the pairs, all of them: opposite gender in all living things and creatures, and
b. provided for you the ships and the cattle which you ride.

43:13
a. So that you may mount upon them: horses, camels, mules and donkeys, and
b. then, you may acknowledge the favor of your Rabb - The Lord as you settle firmly upon
them and you say:
c. ‘Glory be to HIM WHO has given us control over this by subduing them.
d. Otherwise we could never have done it by ourselves.’

43:14
a. Surely we are indeed going to return to our Rabb - The Lord.

43:15
a. And yet they assign a share of divine power to some of HIS servants.
b. Indeed, the human being is clearly ungrateful/blasphemous!

43:16
a. Or has HE taken out of HIS creation the daughters for HIMSELF,
b. and selected for you the sons?

43:17
a. And as and when any of them is told the good news of the birth of a daughter which he
attributes to The Infinitely Merciful,
b. his face grows dark and he is filled with gloom.

43:18
a. What good is a daughter who is to be raised in jewelry/luxury,
b. and who cannot put together a clear argument in the situation of a dispute.

43:19
a. And yet they make the angels, those who are themselves creatures of The Immensely Merciful, as females: daughters of Allah.
b. Were they there to witness their creation?
c. Their claim will be put on record, and they will be questioned about it.

43:20
a. And they say:
b. ‘If The Immensely Merciful had so Willed, we would never have submitted to them in worship.’
c. They have no knowledge of that -
d. they are only guessing.

43:21
a. Or have WE given them the knowledge through a Scripture before it, and they are holding fast to it?
b. No. WE never did.

43:22
a. On the contrary, they maintain:
b. ‘We found our forefathers set on this course.
c. So we are indeed guided on their tracks.’

43:23
a. Likewise, WE never assigned a Warner before you O The Prophet, to any community,
except that its affluent would say:
b. ‘We found our forefathers set on a superior course.
c. So we are only following on their tracks.’

43:24
a. And their Warner would say:
b. Would you still follow them ‘even when I am bringing to you a better guidance than what you found with your forefathers set on?’
c. They would say:
d. Regardless, ‘we do not believe in what you have been assigned with.’

43:25
a. So WE wreaked vengeance upon them.
b. So you see how was the fate of those who denied and belied OUR Messages and OUR Messengers!

43:26
a. And remember when Abraham spoke to his father – Azar - and his people, saying:
b. ‘I definitely renounce what you idolize and worship!’

43:27
a. I will worship no one ‘except The One WHO created me – Allah,
b. for surely HE will guide me.’

43:28
a. And he - Abraham - made this word a lasting thought among his descendants;
b. so that they may return to Allah and the religion of their forefather, Abraham.

43:29
a. They were not unaware of it but it so happened that I made these people and their forefathers enjoy the worldly life without hastening to punish them,
b. until The Truth came to them through OUR Messenger making all things clear.

43:30
a. And now when The Truth - The Qur’an – came to them, they allege:
b. ‘This is all delusion;
c. and, for sure, we reject it.’

43:31
a. And they ask:
b. Why was not this - The Qur’an - sent down on to some important person from one of the two cities.’

43:32
a. Is it they who would apportion the Grace of your Rabb - The Lord to people?
b. No!
c. In fact, it is WE WHO apportion their livelihoods in the life of this world, and
d. elevate some of them in terms of riches and ranks of social status above others, so that they may avail themselves of one another’s help.
e. But the Grace of your Rabb - The Lord is much better than the worldly riches which they accumulate.

43:33
a. And were it not that mankind would be one community in disbelief desiring only worldly riches,
b. WE would have provided for those who disbelieve in The Immensely Merciful houses with
silver ceilings and silver stairways whereon to ascend -

43:34
a. and for their houses, gates of silver and furnishings of silver to recline and rest upon -

43:35
a. - and all manners of decoration of gold.
b. But all these are nothing but merely short-lived delights of the life of this world.
c. Whereas real and lasting happiness in the Hereafter - with your Rabb - The Lord - is for the virtuous.

43:36
a. Whoever willfully turns away from the Remembrance of The Immensely Merciful,
b. WE embed in him a satan - an evil impulse - to become his intimate companion,
c. never leaving his side, as if it were his ‘other self ’ in the life of this world as well in the Hereafter.

43:37
a. And surely they – satanic impulse/companion – prevent them from the Path of Allah,
b. while making them think that they are guided aright.

43:38
a. This goes on until, when he comes to US, he will say to his companion/other self:
b. Oohh - ‘I wish you had been as far away from me as east is from west!
c. What an evil companion’ I had!

43:39
a. The Divine Voice would sound:
b. ‘And when you were being unjust to your own people in the worldly life, then today this
feeling of regret, remorse, and excuses is not going to benefit you;

c. for sure, you both were partners in evil then will now be partners in the punishment.’

43:40
a. O The Prophet!
b. Can you, then, make the deaf hear, or
c. can you guide the blind, or
d. give guidance to the one who is clearly misguided?
e. No. Never!

43:41
a. So whether WE take you away from this world or not, O The Prophet,
b. WE are definitely going to wreak vengeance upon them.

43:42
a. Or whether WE show you in this life or not that punishment which WE have promised them,
b. for, definitely, WE hold Absolute Power over them.

43:43
a. So hold fast to what is revealed onto you – The Qur’an.
b. By doing so, surely, you are firmly set on the Right Path.

43:44
a. And, this Qur’an is indeed a source of admonition and Remembrance for you and for your people.
b. And, eventually, you are all going to be questioned as to how strong and firm a relation did
you establish with this Qur’an.

43:45
a. And you should ask any of OUR Messengers whom WE assigned before you:
b. ‘Did WE ever appoint worshipful entities instead of The Immensely Merciful?’
c. No. Never!

43:46
a. And, indeed, WE assigned Moses with OUR Miracles and Messages to Pharaoh and his courtiers.
b. So he proclaimed:
c. ‘I am a Messenger of Rabb - The Lord Creator of all existence.’

43:47
a. But when he displayed to them OUR Miracles, they began to laugh at them, ridiculing them -

43:48
a. even though each Miracle WE displayed to them was more impressive than the one before it,
b. they denied each one, and belied each one -
c. and WE finally seized them with the punishment,
d. so that they may recognize and accept OUR Might and return to repentance and desist from disbelief.

43:49
a. And, upon experiencing the punishment, they would ask Moses:
b. ‘O the magician!

c. Call upon your Rabb - The Lord for us for removal of the punishment as HE has made a covenant with you,
d. and then surely we will accept your guidance.

43:50
a. Yet whenever WE removed the punishment from them,
b. and as they start feeling safe, they would break their promise and continue persisting in disbelief.

43:51
a. Then Pharaoh called out boastfully to his people, saying:
b. O ‘My People!
c. Do I not hold the kingship of Egypt,
d. and these rivers/streams flowing below my realm?
e. Do you still not see my magnificence that I am your lord?’

43:52
a. ‘Am I not better than this Moses - the one who is despicable,
b. who cannot even speak properly’ and make himself clear?

43:53
a. The Pharaoh continued:
b. If Moses is really a Divine Messenger, ‘why then are not golden armlets conferred on him
by his Rabb - The Lord?
c. Or else the accompanying angels came with him’ in procession to testify to his truthfulness?

43:54
a. This is how he bluffed his people to submit and worship him,
b. and they obeyed him.
c. Indeed, they were a perverse people.

43:55

a. So when they continued to provoke OUR Wrath,
b. WE wreaked vengeance on them and made them live the consequence of their disbelief and arrogance.
c. And, WE drowned them, all together.

43:56
a. Thus, WE made them a bygone people in history,
b. and an example for later generations so that they do not engage in actions similar to theirs.

43:57
a. O The Prophet!
b. And whenever the nature of Jesus son of Mary is cited as an example,
c. your people protest loudly - liken him to their worshipful entities.

43:58
a. And they say:
b. ‘Are our entities of worship better, or is he – Jesus son of Mary whom the Christians worship?

c. They only cite him to you for creating a dispute.
d. Indeed they are a very argumentative people.

43:59
a. Jesus was no more than a human being and a servant of OURS -
- whom WE blessed with Prophethood and Miracles, and
- whom WE made a miraculous example for Descendants of Jacob.

43:60
a. And if WE had so Willed O you who worship the angels,
b. WE could indeed have destroyed humankind and set angels to replace you on the earth.

43:61
a. Indeed, HE has the knowledge of the coming of The Last Hour.
b. So, do not be in doubt about it.
c. And follow me!
d. This is the Right Way.

43:62
a. And never let the Satanic forces keep you away from following the Right Way,
b. for, no doubt, he is an obvious enemy to you all.

43:63
a. And when Jesus came with clear evidence, he said to Descendants of Jacob:
b. ‘I have come to you with the wisdom and
c. in order to clarify to you some of your differences.
d. So be mindful of Allah as HE is going to subject you to the consequences of your intent, faith, and conduct.
e. And follow me!’

43:64
a. ‘Indeed, Allah - HE is my Rabb - The Lord and also your Rabb - The Lord.
b. So submit to HIM in worship!
c. This is the Right Way!’

43:65
a. However, the factions differed among themselves in understanding Jesus’ status, mission and message.
b. So woe to those who have done evil by corrupting his teachings for they are going to suffer
from the punishment of a Dreadful Time.

43:66
a. Are they looking for anything but The Last Hour which should come upon them all of a sudden - when they would not even realize it?

43:67
a. At that Dreadful Time, even close friends will become adversaries to one another,
b. except for the righteous.

43:68
a. The Divine Voice will call out the righteous:
b. O ‘My Servants!

c. You have neither anything to fear this Time while others have every reason to fear,
d. nor will you ever grieve’ when others will be in grief.
43:69
a. They are those who believed in OUR Messages - The Qur’an,
b. and submitted to US in awe, reverence and worship.
43:70
a. So now enter the Paradise, you and your spouses together – rejoicing.
43:71
a. They will be served around with large dishes of gold and cups,
b. and they will have whatever they desire and their eyes delight in,
c. and you will remain therein forever: never to leave, never to die.
43:72
a. ‘And this is the Paradise which you have been given as an inheritance - reward - for what you used to do’ in worldly life.
43:73
a. ‘You will have fruits of all kinds in abundance,
b. from which you eat’ as much as you desire.
43:74
a. But the criminals – guilty of disbelief and a life full of sin - will be in the suffering of Hell forever: never to leave, never to die.
43:75
a. Its suffering will never be lightened for them,
b. even as they will be utterly lost in despair and devastated.
43:76
a. WE would not be unfair to them by punishing them,
b. but it were they who were unfair to themselves by disbelieving and practicing blasphemy.
43:77
a. And they will call out:
b. ‘O guard angel over the Hell!
c. Let your Rabb - The Lord put an end to us.’
d. Whereupon he will answer:
e. No!
f. In fact you are to remain’ as you are in this state: never to leave, never to die.
43:78
a. Certainly, WE have brought you the Truth,
b. but most of you were averse to the Truth.’
43:79
a. Or are they devising some plot against you, O The Prophet?
b. Then, WE too shall be devising a plot to destroy them.
43:80
a. Or do they reckon that WE do not hear their secret conversations and whispered private conspiracies?

b. Yes indeed - WE do!
c. OUR two angel-messengers are ever present with them recording.
43:81
a. Say O The Prophet:
b. ‘If The Immensely Merciful ever had a son, as you allege,
c. then I would have been the very first of the submitters’ to him in awe and worship.
43:82
a. Glory be to Rabb - The Lord of the celestial realm and the terrestrial world,
b. Rabb - the Lord of The Throne of Almightiness and Supremacy.
c. HE is far beyond what they perceive and allege against HIM in unity, divinity, and uniqueness.
43:83
a. So leave them.
b. Let them indulge in sin and amuse themselves,
c. until they encounter their Time - of death and judgment – which they are promised.
43:84
a. And then they will realize that it is HE WHO is Allah in the celestial realm and the terrestrial world.
b. And HE is The All-Wise, The All-Knowing.
43:85
a. And Blessed be The One WHO – to HIM belongs the Sovereignty
- over the celestial realm and the terrestrial world, and
- whatever is between the two, and
b. with HIM alone is the Knowledge of the coming of The Last Hour,
c. and to HIM you are going to be brought back for judgment and awards.
43:86
a. And those entities they call upon apart from HIM have no power of intercession with HIM during the Time of Judgment when it would be needed the most,
b. except for the one who has testified to The Truth in his lifetime, and
c. has been aware that Allah is One Unity and Unique.
43:87
a. And if indeed you were to ask them:
b. ‘Who has created them?’
c. They will certainly say:
d. ‘Allah!’
e. So how can they be so deluded?
43:88
a. And as for his saying in disappointment:
b. O ‘My Rabb - The Lord!
c. Indeed, these are a people who would not believe.’
43:89
a. Divine Advice comes:
b. Despite this, ‘bear with them.
c. And say:
d. ‘Salam!’
e. For they will soon get to know’ the truth, the reality.
