50. Qaf/Qaf

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

50:01
a. Qaf.
b. By The Qur’an, The Majestic.

50:02
a. They consider it strange that a Warner has come to them from amongst themselves.
b. So the disbelievers say:
c. ‘This is certainly something strange!’

50:03
a. How can it be that when we will be dead and turned to mere dust in the grave that we will be brought back to another dimension of existence?
b. Such a return to another dimension of existence is far-fetched.

50:04
a. Thus do they reckon while WE Know well what the earth consumes of them,
b. and with US is a Record which keeps track of their deeds, dealings, speech and preserves everything.

50:05
a. Rather they denied and belied The Truth - The Qur’an - when it came to them,
b. so now they are in a state of confusion.

50:06
a. Would they never look up to the celestial realm, above them, and reflect,
- how WE built it without apparent supports, and
- how WE beautified it with planets, and
- how come it has no flaws in it?

50:07
a. And the earth – how did WE spread it out, and cast upon it firm mountains,
b. and made all kinds of splendid vegetation, in pairs, to grow upon it.

50:08
a. WE did all this as an evidence as well as a reminder for every person who turns to Allah in awe, reverence and piety.

50:09
a. And also WE send down from the sky clouds rain water, full of blessings,
b. then with it WE make orchards and gardens to grow as well as grain for harvest;

50:10
a. and the tall date-palm trees, with clustering fruit, pile on the pile;

50:11
a. all this as life sustenance for the people, and
b. with it – rain water - WE give life to the land that had been lifeless.
c. Likewise will be the resurrection of every dead from their grave.

50:12
a. Before them - the People of Noah belied and denied his Divine Mission,
b. as did the People of Rass and Thamud.

50:13
a. And so did the People of ‘Ad and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot.

50:14
a. And the People of the Aykah and the People of Tubba’.
b. Each of them belied and denied the respective Messengers.
c. So MY Promise of punishment against their persistent and conscious denial of the Divine Message became a reality, and they were destroyed.

50:15
a. Were WE then tired out by the first creation?
b. Not at all!
c. And likewise, WE will not be tired by restoring it.
d. Yet they are confused about the new dimension of creation in the realm of the Hereafter.

50:16
a. And indeed, WE Created the human being without a precedent, and
b. WE Know well what evil his soul would entice within him:
c. as WE are even closer to him in knowing him than his own jugular vein.

50:17
a. Moreover, they should remember that the two scribes – angels – are observing and
recording everything,
b. seated one on the right hand side and another on the left hand side,

50:18
a. not even a single word will have been uttered by any one person, but there is a vigilant
watcher ever-present, ready to record it.

50:19
a. And as the pangs of death will surely come upon you – it is an absolute reality.
b. This is what you were always avoiding.

50:20
a. And the Trumpet will be sounded heralding the Resurrection.
b. That will be the Promised Time for holding everyone to account and awarding the rewards.

50:21
a. And everyone will be brought to stand for accountability,
b. each soul accompanied by one who will drive him, and another to bear a witness and testify to his deeds, dealings, and speech.

50:22
a. And the one who will drive him will say:
b. ‘Indeed, you have been unmindful of this Time and its correlatives in the worldly life.
c. Now we have removed from you the covering of your ignorance,
d. so your sight of seeing the reality is now sharp.’

50:23
a. And the one accompanying him will say:
b. ‘Here is the record I have ready with me’ as a testimony.

50:24
a. Thus the Judgment will sound:
b. ‘Hurl into Hell everyone who is ungrateful, stubborn,

50:25
a. since he has been preventer of good, flouter of limits set by Allah, and skeptic’ about the coming of this Time.

50:26
a. As also ‘the one who had ascribed other entities of worship to Allah.
b. Hurl him too into the severe punishment.’

50:27
a. His companion will say:
b. O ‘Our Rabb - The Lord!
c. I did not incite him to rebel against YOUR Religion and its imperatives,
d. in fact he had already gone far astray’ of his own will.

50:28
a. HE will say:
b. ‘Do not argue in MY Presence.
c. I had already sent the warning to you’ all of the consequences of your deeds, dealings and
speech emanating from flawed faith and criminal behavior.
d. So now it is inevitable!

50:29
a. ‘MY Word of Judgment from ME will never change.
b. However, I am never unfair to MY servants.’

50:30
a. That Time WE will ask Hell:
b. ‘Are you now filled’ to the full?
c. And it will submit:
d. ‘Are there any more’ to be added?

50:31
a. And when the Paradise will be brought close to those who have been reverent,
b. no longer far away and so they see it;

50:32
a. …. they will be told:
b. ‘This is what you were promised in the world,
c. a promise made to everyone who was turning to Allah and was watchful’ of his conduct to remain in compliance with Allah’s Religion.

50:33
a. The one who had remained in awe of The Immensely Merciful even though HE remained beyond his perception,
b. and came with an ever-repentant heart to HIS Presence.

50:34
a. ‘Enter this Paradise in peace!
b. This is the Time of your eternal life:’ never to leave, never to die.

50:35
a. They will have in it whatever they may wish,
b. and with US is even more - without limit, without measure.

50:36
a. And how many generations/nations have WE destroyed before them?!
b. They were mightier in prowess than them yet when the punishment came upon them they ran for a refuge in the land.
c. Could they find any refuge from OUR Punishment?

50:37
a. Indeed, there should be a lesson for anyone who has a living heart,
b. and cares to listen with an attentive mind.

50:38
a. And, indeed, WE created the celestial realm and the terrestrial world and whatever is within and between them in six days/time span,
b. and any fatigue or weariness did not even touch US.

50:39
a. So endure with patience whatever they allege or rebuke, and
b. glorify the praise of your Rabb - The Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting;

50:40
a. and during the night too,
b. glorify HIS Praise, for some part of the night, and at the ends of the prostration.

50:41
a. And listen to the announcement of the coming of The Time when the caller - the Archangel Seraphiel - will call from a place close to everyone.

50:42
a. The Time when they will actually hear the deafening Blast/Bang-
b. that will be the Time of rising for the dead from their burials.

50:43
a. Indeed, it is WE WHO give life and death.
b. And to US all will be brought back for judgment and award.

50:44
a. The Time when the earth will split apart and people, rising from it, they will be rushing -
b. that will be a Gathering - easy for US.

50:45
a. O The Prophet!
b. WE are Fully Aware of whatever they allege against you and your Mission,
c. but it is not for you to compel them or coerce them to embrace the Faith of Islam.
Just keep on reminding - by means of this Qur’an - to whoever fears MY Warning of the Time when no one will be spared of the accountability for one’s worldly life: deeds, speech, and dealings.
