51. Adh-Dhariyat/The Scatterers

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

51:01
a. And the scatterers, scattering everywhere,

51:02
a. and the bearers with their burden,

51:03
a. and the runners with their gentle ease,

51:04
a. and the distributors by command!

51:05
a. Surely what you are promised is true indeed!

51:06
a. Surely the Time of Final Judgment is sure to come.

51:07
a. And the celestial realm with all its countless tracks!

51:08
a. Surely you are of differing opinions.

51:09
a. Whoever is deluded about it is really deluded.

51:10
a. So doomed be those who just speculate,

51:11
a. those who are oblivious of the realm of the Hereafter.

51:12
a. They mockingly ask:
b. ‘When will be the Time of Final Judgment?’

51:13
a. Tell them:
b. It will definitely come and be ‘The Time when they are going to be tried by the Fire.’

51:14
a. And they will be told:
b. ‘Taste your trial/punishment!
c. This is what you had been seeking to hurry.’

51:15
a. Surely the virtuous will be in the Paradise and flowing springs;

51:16
a. receiving what their Rabb - The Lord will have given them of the reward,
b. for they were definitely seekers of excellence in piety even before the coming of this Time.

51:17
a. For they will sleep only a little of the night as they were in worshipful meditation most of the time,

51:18
a. and in the early hours before dawn, they would seek Allah’s compassion, mercy and
forgiveness.

51:19
a. And of their wealth and possessions there would always be a portion assigned for the needy and the deprived.

51:20
a. And throughout the terrestrial world there are Signs of HIS Creativity and Wonders visible
to all those who are firm in faith.

51:21
a. And even within yourselves are Wondrous Signs of Biological Creativity.
b. Do you not notice them?!

51:22
a. And in the celestial realm is the source of your provision,
b. and also what you are promised.

51:23
a. And so by Rabb - The Lord of the celestial realm and the terrestrial world,
b. all this is real just as real as you speak.

51:24
a. O The Prophet!
b. Has the narrative of Abraham’s honored guests reached you?

51:25
a. When they came in to him and greeted:
b. ‘Salam!’
c. Peace!
d. He returned the greetings:

e. ‘Salam!
f. And said to himself - they are a people unfamiliar to me.’
51:26
a. Then he conned his way to his family and brought a platter of roasted calf/meat.
51:27
a. Then he placed it before them.
b. And invited them to eat, saying:
c. ‘Will you not eat?’
d. They neither responded nor took anything.
51:28
a. Then he began to feel a fear of them.
b. Noting his situation they said:
c. ‘Do not fear!’
d. And they gave him the good news of the birth of a wise/knowledgeable son.
51:29
a. So over-hearing this his wife Sarah came out lamenting,
b. slapping her face/forehead, and exclaimed:
c. ‘An infertile old woman’ like me - am I to give birth to a child who has never given birth to any child?!
51:30
a. They assured:
b. ‘So it shall be!
c. Thus your Rabb - The Lord has decreed.
d. Surely, HE – HE is the All-Wise to bless you with a son in this state, and the All-Knowing’
that you are infertile and old and so is your spouse.
51:31
a. Abraham then inquired:
b. ‘What is then your next task, O the angelic-messengers?’
51:32
a. They said:
b. ‘We have been assigned to a people lost in sinful crime’ – illicit behavior and sinful conduct.
51:33
a. ‘So as to let loose upon them clods of stones of baked clay,
51:34
a. marked by your Rabb - The Lord for those who transgress the bounds of morality set by HIM.
51:35
a. Then WE evacuated from it whoever was of the believers so as to destroy the rest;
51:36
a. though WE did not find there any, except only one household of those who were devoted to Allah.
51:37
a. And WE left in it a Sign of dreadful destruction of sinful people for all those who fear
Allah’s painful punishment.

51:38
a. And there is also a Sign for you in the narrative of Moses,
b. when WE assigned him to Pharaoh with clear authority.

51:39
a. But he - Pharaoh - turned away in disbelief arrogantly along with his supporters and ridiculed him by saying:
b. ‘A magician or insane.’

51:40
a. So in due course, WE seized him and the army of his troops;
b. and flung them into the Red Sea, and
c. he alone was to blame for their end and for his own fate as he belied OUR Messengers and claimed divinity.

51:41
a. And there is also a Sign for you in the destruction of the tribe of ‘Ad,
b. when WE let loose upon them a devastating whirlwind.

51:42
a. It spared nothing that it came upon - every soul, every plantation, and every structure - but left it like decayed ruins.

51:43
a. And there is also a Sign for you in the fate of Thamud,
b. when they were told:
c. ‘Enjoy yourselves for a little while’ here.

51:44
a. But they rebelled against the Command of their Rabb - The Lord;
b. so they were seized by a thunderbolt as they were looking on helplessly.

51:45
a. They could neither withstand it,
b. nor could they defend themselves/help one another.

51:46
a. And before all these, WE had destroyed the People of Noah.
b. They were truly a sinful people.

51:47
a. And the celestial realm - WE built it with OUR Might,
b. and, indeed, WE are constantly expanding it as well.

51:48
a. And the earth, WE laid it out;
b. and how well have WE laid it out!

51:49
a. And WE have created pairs of every living thing – the opposite, for purposes of reproduction and perpetuation of its own species,
b. so that you may realize Allah’s Supreme and Unshared Creative Power.

51:50
a. Tell them:
b. ‘So turn to Allah quickly!
c. Indeed, I am a clear Warner assigned to you from HIM.’

51:51
a. ‘And do not ascribe any other entity of worship to Allah - The One and Only God.
b. Indeed, I am a clear Warner assigned to you from HIM.’

51:52
a. Likewise has it been in the past:
b. never did a Messenger come to those before them, but they would ridicule him saying -
c. ‘A magician or insane.’

51:53
a. Is this the tradition they have passed down from one generation to the other?
b. No!
c. They are a rebellious people.

51:54
a. Once you - O The Prophet - have delivered the Message,
b. then turn away from them/ignore them,
c. for you are not responsible for their disbelief and will not be blamed.

51:55
a. However, keep reminding them of the fate of the past disbelieving communities,
b. for the reminding benefits the believers.

51:56
a. And I did not create the jinn and the humankind except that they should submit to ME in worship.

51:57
a. I do not seek any life provisions from them – the jinn and the human,
b. nor do I want them to feed ME.

51:5
a. Indeed, it is Allah alone WHO is the Sole Provider of life sustenance to all creation.
b. Allah is the Lord of Absolute Power, the Lord of All Supremacy.

51:59
a. The evil-doers will certainly have the same fate as the fate of their predecessors,
b. so they should not seek to hurry ME - MY punishment right away.

51:60
a. Then woe to those who deny and belie the truth of the Time of Final Judgment and its correlatives which they have been promised.
