61. Al-Saff/Firm Ranks

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

61:01
a. Whatever is within the celestial realm and within the terrestrial world is Glorifying Allah
– The One and Only God,
b. for HE is The Almighty, The All-Wise.

61:02
a. O The Faithful!
b. Why do you say things that you do not do as well as you will not do?

61:03
a. It is severely hateful and most despicable with Allah that you say things and then do not do
them.

61:04
a. Surely, Allah loves those brave men who fight for HIS Cause,
b. ranged in firm ranks and full formations as if they were one well-compacted solid structure.

61:05
a. And remember when Moses said to his people:
b. ‘O My Community People!
c. Why do you hurt me by belying my Mission and my Message, while you know well that I am Allah’s Messenger’ assigned to you?
d. But when they deviated from the Path of Allah, Allah made their hearts deviate from HIS Path.
e. And Allah does not guide a people who have chosen to be misguided and are defiantly
disobedient.

61:06
a. And remember when Jesus, son of Mary, proclaimed:
b. ‘O Descendants of Jacob!
c. I am a Messenger of Allah assigned to you,
d. confirming the Message of the Torah, sent before me to Moses, and bringing good news of a Messenger to come after me, whose name will be Ahmed’ - most praised.
e. Yet when he – Ahmed/Muhammad – came to them with clear proofs of his Divine Mission, they alleged:
f. ‘This is a sheer deception!’

650 Surah 61 * Al-Saff

61:07
a. And who could be more unjust than the one who fabricates falsehood against Allah even when he is being called to submit to HIM?
b. And Allah does not guide a people who have chosen to be misguided and are evil doers.

61:08
a. They seek to put off the Light of Allah - The Qur’an - with their mouths,
b. but Allah Wills to perfect HIS Light and spread it to its fullness no matter how hateful it may be to the disbelievers.

61:09
a. It is HE WHO assigned HIS Messenger with Guidance of The Qur’an and the True Religion
of Islam,
b. so that HE may make it prevail over all other religions, faiths, cults, and creeds, no matter how hateful it may be to the polytheists.

61:10
a. O The Faithful!
b. Shall I point out to you a deal that is of splendid worth and will also save you from a grievous punishment in this world as well as in the Hereafter?

61:11
a. That you
- believe in Allah and HIS Messenger Muhammad, and
- strive diligently and unceasingly in HIS Cause with your possessions and your
persons,
b. That will be much better for you, if only you can understand its true worth.

61:12
a. HE will then, forgive you your sins,
b. and admit you into Gardens with rivers running below, and beautiful mansions in the Gardens of Perpetual Bliss.
c. This will be a great success.

61:13
a. And HE will also grant you what is dearest to you:
- help from Allah, and
- another upcoming victory.
b. So give the good news regarding this victory to the Faithful.

61:14
a. O The Faithful!
b. Be my supporters in the Cause of Allah just as were the apostles of Jesus.
c. When Jesus, son of Mary, asked his apostles:
d. ‘Who will be my supporters in the Cause of Allah?’
e. The apostles pledged:
f. ‘We will be your supporters in the Cause of Allah.’
g. Then a section among Descendants of Jacob believed in Jesus’ Divine Mission and his Call, while the other section did not believe.
h. So WE supported those who believed against their disbelieving enemies till they prevailed over them.
