69. Al-Haqqah/The True Reality

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

69:01
a. The True Reality!

69:02
a. What is the True Reality?

69:03
a. And what may enable you to comprehend the True Reality?
b. It is The Time of Resurrection and the Final Judgment.

69:04
a. The people of the tribes of Thamud and ‘Ad denied coming of the calamity: the Time of Resurrection and Final Judgment.

69:05
a. As for Thamud, they were destroyed by a severe thunderbolt.

69:06
a. And as for ‘Ad, they were destroyed by furiously violent cold blast of roaring wind storm -

69:07
a. HE unleashed upon them for seven long grueling nights and eight long days, in succession,
b. so that you could see the people lying dead on the ground like the uprooted hollow palm trunks.

69:08
a. So do you see any of them remaining now?
b. No!

69:09
a. And Pharaoh too, and those sinful communities before him, and the habitations of Sodom and Gomorrah overturned - which the people of Lot inhabited - indulged in grave sins.

69:10
a. When they denied and belied the Messenger of their Rabb - The Lord,
b. then HE seized them with an overwhelming seizing - one exceeding the other in its severity.

69:11
a. And when the water level rose high - exceeding all limits - during the forty days and forty nights of Great Flooding, WE carried you to safety in the floating Ark.

69:12
a. So that WE make it a reminder/learning lesson for you, and that any attentive ears and retentive hearts may take heed.

69:13
a. And when The Trumpet will be sounded, one single sounding,

69:14
a. and the earth and the mountains will be heaved and shattered with one single shattering.

69:15
a. Then, at that Time will happen what is to happen.

69:16
a. When the celestial realm will be split open -
b. for at that time it will be so frail.

69:17
a. And the angels will be over its fringes -
b. eight of them,
c. bearing their Rabb - The Lord ‘s Throne above them.

69:18
a. At that Time you will be brought before Allah for judgment and nothing that you kept hidden of your motives and deeds will remain hidden.

69:19
a. Then whoever would be given his record of deeds in his right hand,
b. He will say proudly to those around him:
c. ‘Here it is!
d. Read my record’ of deeds.

69:20
a. ‘I was certain that one day I would be called to account.’

69:21
a. So he will be in a pleasing life - full of bliss and contentment,

69:22
a. in a lofty paradise,

69:23
a. with its clusters of fruits plentiful and within reach.

69:24
a. They will be told:
b. ‘Eat and drink happily as a reward for the deeds of righteousness you had been doing in the past worldly days.’

69:25
a. But whoever would be given his record of deeds in his left hand,
b. He will say remorsefully:
c. Ah - I wish ‘I had never been given my record’ of deeds.

69:26
a. ‘And I would have never come to know what my account of performance was.’

69:27
a. ‘I wish the end with my death in the life of the world had been the final end’ and I had never been resurrected,

69:28
a. even ‘my wealth has not been of any use to me,’

69:29
a. and on the top of this ‘my authority has gone from me,’ which I exercised in the worldly life.

69:30
a. Then angels would be commanded:
b. ‘Seize him and shackle him:’ by the neck, the hands, and the feet -

69:31
a. ‘then flung him into the Blazing Fire.’

69:32
a. ‘Then, tie him up with a chain of seventy cubits’/lengths long,

69:33
a. ‘for he would not believe in Allah, The Almighty,’

69:34
a. ‘and would not urge others to feed and clothe the poor’ nor feed them himself.

69:35
a. So he has no real friend here now to avail him,

69:36
a. nor any good food, except filth of pollutants,

69:37
a. which no one but the sinners will eat.

69:38
a. So I swear by whatever you see,

69:39
a. as well as by whatever you do not see.

69:40
a. Surely this Qur’an is indeed the speech conveyed to you by an Illustrious Messenger -
Muhammad ibn Abdallah,

69:41
a. and it is not the speech of a poet -
b. how little do you believe!

69:42
a. It is also not the speech of a soothsayer -
d. how little do you reflect!

69:43
a. Rather this Qur’an is sent down from Rabb - The Lord of all existence.

69:44
a. And had he – Muhammad – forged some statement of the Revelation in OUR Name, which WE would have not revealed,

69:45
a. WE would have certainly seized him by the right hand –

69:46
a. and, then, WE would have cut-off his main artery.

69:47
a. And not even one of you could have saved him from it.

69:48
a. And this – The Qur’an - is undoubtedly a Reminder for the Allah-conscious.

69:49
a. Yet, indeed, WE know that some among you belie this, The Qur’an -

69:50
a. and, indeed, this Qur’an will become a source of distress for the disbelievers.

69:51
a. And, undoubtedly, this Qur’an is the Truth of absolute certainty!

69:52
a. So Glorify The Sacred Name of your Rabb - The Lord, The Almighty.
