75. Al-Qiyamah/The Resurrection

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

75:01
a. I swear by the Time of Resurrection.

75:02
a. And I swear by the human soul,
b. self-blaming,
c. even if it exerts great efforts to be virtuous.

75:03
a. Does the human being reckon that WE shall never gather and re-assemble his bones to resurrect him?

75:04
a. Why not?
b. In fact WE are even Able to restore the very tips of his fingers with their lines too.

75:05
a. No! It is not that.
b. Instead, the human being wants to do evil while facing it – the conscience,

75:06
a. asking in mockery and denial:
b. ‘When shall be the Time of Resurrection?’

75:07
a. The Time of Resurrection will be the time when the eyesight would be startled and perplexed,

75:08
a. and the moon would be darkened through eclipses with its light disappearing,

75:09
a. and when the sun and the moon would be joined together in one place,
b. and this will be the Time of Resurrection!

75:10
a. At that Time, the human being will ask:
b. ‘Where is the escape?’

75:11
a. Never will there be any escape!
b. There will not even be a refuge to flee to and seek any protection!

75:12
a. To your Rabb - The Lord alone will be the recourse of this Time,

75:13
a. - the Time when the human being will be apprised about what the good and evil of deeds
he had sent ahead, and,
b. what he had left behind after his death.

75:14
a. In fact, the human being will be a witness against himself,
b. as his body parts will be made to speak of his deeds: what they saw, heard, or experienced –

75:15
a. even though he may offer excuses to the contrary.

75:16
a. O The Prophet!
b. Do not move your tongue in a hurry, endeavoring to hasten memorization of the Revelation, lest you may forget a part of it.

75:17
a. In fact, it is for US to ensure its preservation in your heart and enable you its recitation.

75:18
a. Therefore, when WE have recited it to you, then you will follow its recital,

75:19
a. then it is for US to explain it by making you comprehend it.

75:20
a. O People!
b. You cannot reject it with arguments.
c. Instead, you all love the life of this fleeting world excessively,

75:21
a. and neglect the Hereafter,
b. thus neglecting to work towards attaining bliss in it.

75:22
a. But it will come and some faces will be radiant and glowing at that Time,

75:23
a. looking forward to the Countenance of their Rabb - The Lord.

75:24
a. While other faces will be gloomy and despairing at that Time,

75:25
a. fearing that a great calamity is about to befall them.

75:26
a. Now you cannot deny it.
b. Certainly not!
c. When life withdraws and it will reach the collarbone –

75:27
a. and it will be asked of those of his family and others around the dying person:
b. ‘Who -
c. - any wizard, any enchanter, any physician
d. can save him now?’

75:28
a. And he will then realize it is the parting time.

75:29
a. And, in the agony of death, the shin of one leg will buckle around the shin of other leg.

75:30
a. To your Rabb - The Lord, that time will be driving back of the soul -

75:31
a. for he had neither believed nor prayed in the worshipful submission of HIM,

75:32
a. and belied the Truth and turned away from the Faith of Islam.

75:33
a. Then, in the life of this world, he would go to his family, admiring himself and behaving wantonly.

75:34
a. That to which you are averse is now nearer to you!
b. And even nearer!

75:35
a. Then, nearer to you!
b. And even nearer!

75:36
a. Does the human being reckon that he will be left alone to himself, excused from the process of accountability?
b. No!

75:37
a. Was he not once a mere drop of sperm, ejected and deposited into the womb?

75:38
a. Then formed into an embryo;
b. so HE fashioned him, well-shaped and duly proportioned him into a human body embedded with intellect and feelings.

75:39
a. Then HE made from it the pair - the opposites - the male and the female.

75:40
a. Would not HE - WHO does that - equally Able to give life to the dead?
b. Yes indeed!
HE is Able to do all things just as HE created Adam from nothing.
