79. Al-Nazi’at/Those who pull out

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

79:01
a. By those angelic forces that pull out the soul of the guilty person violently,

79:02
a. and those angelic forces that draw out the soul of the virtuous person gently,

79:03
a. as well as those angelic forces gliding around smoothly,

79:04
a. and still others of those angelic forces outpacing each other swiftly,

79:05
a. so as to carry out a Divine Command.

79:06
a. The Time when the first blast of the Trumpet will shake the world violently,

79:07
a. followed by the succeeding blasts,

79:08
a. many hearts will be terrified at that Time,

79:09
a. their sights downcast because of the terror that they will see around.

79:10
a. They - the disbelievers - ask mockingly and in rejection of the Resurrection:
b. What!
c. ‘Are we going to be restored to our former state of life?

79:11
a. even though we may have become crumbled bones?’

79:12
a. They say in derision:
b. ‘Then, that will be returning with a great loss.’

79:13
a. Then it will just be one single blast -

79:14
a. when suddenly they will have been awakened to life.

79:15
a. Has the account of Moses reached you?

79:16
a. When his Rabb - The Lord called out to him in the Sacred Valley of Tuwa, and commanded:

79:17
a. ‘Go to Pharaoh!
b. Indeed, he has become defiant and transgressed.’

79:18
a. And tell him:
b. ‘Would you not like to be cleansed’ of disbelief and self-conceitedness?

79:19
a. ‘And I guide you to your Rabb - The Lord,
b. so that you may be in awe’ of HIS Might and Uniqueness.

79:20
a. Thereupon, he went to Pharaoh and showed him the great miraculous sign.

79:21
a. But he denied him vehemently and defied him arrogantly.

79:22
a. Thereafter he turned away, striving against Moses.

79:23
a. So he assembled his council and proclaimed to his people.

79:24
a. Saying:
b. ‘I am truly your supreme lord!’

79:25
a. Thereupon, Allah seized him with an exemplary punishment for this life and the next one.

79:26
a. Surely, and made him a warning example for whoever stands in awe of Allah’s Presence.

79:27
a. Are you – O human being - more difficult to create than the celestial realm which HE built?

79:28
a. HE raised its height and then shaped it to perfection with the qualities to fulfill its purpose.

79:29
a. And darkened its nighttime, and brightened its daytime.

79:30
a. And, thereafter, the earth HE made it oval like the shape of an egg,

79:31
a. and brought out of it its water resources and its pastures - a recurring phenomenon,

79:32
a. and the mountains, HE set firmly -

79:33
a. - all this creation as a means of life to benefit you and your livestock.

79:34
a. Therefore, it is a reality when the Great Overwhelming Event will come,

79:35
a. the time when every human being will clearly recall all that he had striven for in the worldly life of good or evil,

79:36
a. and the Hell will be made to become visible for all who are destined to see it.

79:37
a. Then as for the one who had been defiant and transgressed,

79:38
a. and preferred the worldly life to the Hereafter,

79:39
a. then, surely, Blazing Fire - it will be the/his living place.

79:40
a. Whereas for the one who lived in awe of his Rabb - The Lord’s Presence, and
b. restrained himself from lust and passion,

79:41
a. then, surely, Paradise - it will be the/his living place.

79:42
a. They ask you, O The Prophet, about the Last Hour:
b. ‘When shall it come?’

79:43
a. But you have no knowledge about its timing - O The Prophet.

79:44
a. The knowledge of its coming lies exclusively with your Rabb - The Lord.

79:45
a. Moreover, you - O The Prophet - are only a Warner for those who stand in awe of it - the Last Hour.

79:46
a. The Last Hour will be the Time that they all will see it.
b. It would seem to them as if they had remained in the worldly life no longer than an afternoon
of a day or a forenoon.
