83. Al-Mutaffifin/The Defrauders

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

83:01
a. Woe to the defrauders,

83:02
a. those who take full measure when they measure against the people,

83:03
a. yet whenever it would be giving the right of others, they reduce the measure for themselves or weigh for themselves.

83:04
a. Do they not realize that they will be resurrected from their graves and held accountable for their cheating -

83:05
a. - during an Awful Time,

83:06
a. - the Time when everyone – all humankind - will stand accountable before Rabb - The Lord of all existence?

83:07
a. They think all will be equal at the Time of Final Judgment.
b. Not at all!
c. The book/record of deeds of the sinful will be preserved in Sijjeen.

83:08
a. And what may enable you to perceive Sijjeen?

83:09
a. It will be repository of a written book.

83:10
a. Woe, that Time, to those who belie -

83:11
a. those who belie persistently the truth of the Time of Final Judgment.

83:12
a. And no one can deny it, except every transgressor and sinful.

83:13
a. Whenever OUR Messages from The Qur’an are read out to him, he would rebuke:
b. ‘Fictional tales of an ancient people!’

83:14
a. Of course not!
b. Rather what they have earned has covered their hearts like rust.

83:15
a. Of course not!
b. Surely, at that Time, they will be screened off from the Presence of their Rabb - The Lord.

83:16
a. Then, indeed, they will be entered into the Blazing Fire.

83:17
a. Then, it will be said to them:
b. ‘This is the reality of what you used to belie!’

83:18
a. No, never!
b. In fact, the book/record of the righteous will be preserved in Illiyyun.

83:19
a. And what may enable you to perceive ‘Illiyyun?

83:20
a. It will be repository of a written book -

83:21
a. witnessed by those brought near to the Presence of Allah.

83:22
a. Indeed, the righteous will be amid bliss in Paradise,

83:23
a. seated on couches, observing the bliss they would have been given.

83:24
a. You will recognize a blissful radiance on their faces.

83:25
a. They will be served a sealed nectar to drink,

83:26
a. - sealed with musk.
b. So let those who aspire for the best and compete with each other submit themselves to Allah’s obedience,

83:27
a. and it will be blended with Tasneem,

83:28
a. - a spring from which those brought near will drink.

83:29
a. Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh in their worldly life at those who believed,

83:30
a. and whenever they passed by them, would wink to each other in mockery,

83:31
a. and when they will return to their people - families, and friends - they would make fun of them.

83:32
a. And when they will see them - the believers - they would say:
b. ‘They are definitely misguided’ for following Muhammad!

83:33
a. Even though those who say so were not assigned as caretakers for them - the believers.

83:34
a. So now those who believed will be laughing at the disbelievers,

83:35
a. sitting on couches, observing the disbelievers’ fate.

83:36
a. Have the disbelievers been adequately paid back for what they used to do?
b. Yes, indeed!
